August 14, 2004That is a lot of power! 250hp on my little tacoma would be so insane!! I only have 155hp on mine. I think Im going to try and fdind a dynoshop and after every mod go there and test the numbers. Do you know if it is expensive or how expensive it is to do that?
December 4, 2004dyno testing isn't that bad, check out a event calenader at a local dragstrip, they normally have a truck there for big swap meets and drag shows. i know that is how it is around by me, it's cheap like 110 bucks for and averaged 3 runs on the dyno.
December 5, 2004$110 is really expensive for 3 runs. I think there is a plce that will dyno and tune $50 for every half an hour and I think around $40 just to run it once and get the numbers.
December 7, 2004well, if you get it dyno'ed very curious about the results......you should donations fron curious people just to get it done....
December 10, 2004As soon as the truck is running, and painted, I will go check out Bulldog, a shop that has a dyno. Also, LCEngineering is coming out with a Turbocharger kit for the 3RZ and I think the V6 the 5ZR?
I'll put some updated pictures of my truck in the shop today. I gotta go put my lay, and my car freshener inside the cab anyways so I'll snap a few shots, and maybe record me starting it so you can sound how badly it is. =*(*
December 18, 2004Me and ROMPR got my truck runing lastnight.
February 27, 2005You guys need to check http://www.tacomaterritory.com/
almost everyone on there is SC'ed. There are a few on there including myself that are putting out over 250 RWHP.
March 14, 2005Less..... more air=more fuel=more ponies=less gas mileage....
March 14, 2005I checked out TacomaTerritory.com and I could hardly find anyone with a Supercharger let alone any type of forced induction. Anything, everyone there is running all motor.
Also that is true about more boost will amount to less fuel economy over the original specs, but you do get more power witch is a lot of fun. Anything would be better than running the 150hp I have right now. The good thing about a turbocharger is a boost controller. You can have a preset level for day-to-day driving, and then another for when you wanna race, show the other guy how much faster your ride is or for the weekend driving. The good thing about Nitrous is it only kicks in when it's armed, then activated with a momentary switch on the steering wheel or an electric throttle position sensor module.
April 2, 2005Adding a supercharger defenatley sounds like a good idea, but a little to expensive for me right now. I think maybe some minor upgrades is what I'm in grasp of right now.
